Our Cantor
Cantor Marla Goldberg
Temple Sinai Welcomes Invested Cantor Marla Goldberg Cantor Marla Goldberg will begin her cantorate at Temple Sinai on July 1. Cantor Goldberg comes to us with spirituality, creativity, energy, and philosophical compatibility. She is eager to help foster the growth of our community and to expand our musical knowledge. Her education in sacred music is extensive and includes the Hebrew Union College - Jewish Institute of Religion - School of Sacred Music, a Master of Sacred Music, and investiture in 2006. Investiture is to cantor what ordained is to rabbi. Cantor Goldberg has extensive professional experience and comes to us most recently from Temple Beth-El in St. Petersburg, Florida. Her list of awards and scholarships is considerably long and incredibly impressive, The Forcheimer Scholarship, The Cantor Walter Davidson Prize, The Morris W. Smith Prize, The Rabbi Stephen S. Pearce Prize, The Palm Beach Liturgical Prize, and most recently the Second place division 6 Southern Nevada award from the Nation Association of Teachers of Singing. This is an exciting
moment for Temple Sinai. We eagerly look forward to welcoming Cantor
Goldberg and to enjoying the Jewish musical and cultural enrichment she
will bring. Together with Rabbi Segel, we shall proudly offer a strong
multi-talented clergy team that is second to none. |
