Giving student’s “Hebrew to build on” is our goal - from introduction to the Alef Bet to preparing for Bat and Bar Mitzvah. Students will build upon yearly skills by learning Hebrew vocabulary, prayers, and torah trope. Our newest program will provide Post B’nai Mitzvah student’s with “Living Hebrew”, preparing them for Birthright trips to Israel as well as other opportunities to visit Israel. Leadership Program is designed for students, ages 13–18, who have completed their Bar and Bat Mitzvah. They will continue on as Post B’nai Mitzvah students learning how to become teachers and leaders in our synagogue and community. They will train in teaching in a religious school environment, learning the best practice methods of teaching, preparing lesson plans, follow-through, administration, preparing for events and programming where they take the lead in creating, planning, and executing the program and/or event. They will actively participate in community-wide collections for the needy and a host of Jewish and non-Jewish organizations within our community. They will learn how to make their voices heard through our state process. Students can also receive Junior High School recognition and High School elective credits for participation in this program. We will encourage students’ talents by offering them opportunities to build on their skills, and participate in synagogue life. Through youth choir, youth bands, and our leadership program, we can effectively and successfully set the pace for our students’ future. Choir meets Sunday, 9:00-9:30am.
