CanTOR PERPER
Cantor David Perper was raised in Silver Spring, Maryland in a warm and loving Jewish home, and was confirmed at Temple Emanuel in Kensington, Maryland. David started singing in high school, then continued singing through his undergraduate degree program at The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.. During his studies he worked singing in churches and a conservative High Holy Day choir. David was ordained by The Debbie Friedman School of Sacred Music, Hebrew Union College in New York City in 1996. Cantor Perper has served congregations in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and New Jersey and has concertized and sung in cantorial masterclasses throughout his cantorial & performing career. His cantorial life is focused on teaching, preparing and leading spirited and moving worship experiences, pastoral care, b'nei mitzvah preparation, and vocal study with his long time voice teacher Braeden Harris. David plays keyboards, guitar and percussion and has decades of experience preparing and conducting choirs both youth and adults. Cantor Perpers' repertoire range from sacred music and oratorio, to concert, opera and musical theatre. David’s singing career has taken him to Israel, Italy, Germany and Poland, and across the United States. Cantor Perper is happily married to his wife Cantor Faith Steinsnyder for 27 years.
