Conversion

Temple Sinai welcomes those who are sincerely interested in becoming Jewish. The conversion process includes group classes (Introduction to Judaism and Hebrew), individual study, attending worship services, personal Jewish practice, and concluding exercises and rituals.

Rabbi Ilana Baden runs an ever-rolling conversion course; you may join at any time during the year.

Acceptance in the course is conditional on a meeting with Rabbi Ilana Baden (Email Rabbi).

The minimum expectation for conversion is one full life cycle with congregational involvement and the completion of an Introduction to Judaism course. The sealing of conversion will be on the basis of meeting three rabbis as part of a Beit Din, immersion in the mikveh, and hatafat dam brit for males.

Financial responsibility is membership of Temple Sinai, which is expected once you decide you want to proceed with the conversion process.
